You know it's love when...

This is "Melman"
He is Adam's beloved giraffe and constant companion.
.
It all started in June of 2009, when a routine trip to the store resulted in the purchase of this little giraffe.
.
Adam's love of the giraffe was immediate and he has become a fixture in our daily lives ever since.
.
"Melman" eats with Adam, bathes with Adam, goes on the potty with Adam and plays with Adam all day long. The ONLY rule we have about Melman, is that he cannot go with Adam during his naptime or at bedtime. This was hard at first, but he now understands that Melman isn't soft enough or "cuddly" enough to take to bed.
.
Giraffe #1 only lasted about four months. All of the wear and tear of being a "constant companion" left it worn down to two legs, no ears and no antlers.
.
Luckily for Adam mommy was smart and purchased two giraffes on that blessed day in June.
.
So giraffe #1 disappeared one day and beautiful giraffe #2 emerged a few hours later. Adam was delighted to find out that Melman had gone to the "doctor" and gotten all fixed up....
.
Fast forward four more months....
.
Giraffe #2 looks no better off than giraffe #1 ever did. Infact all the same parts are missing once again.
.
Unfortunately mommy only bought two to begin with.
(and a trip to the store confirmed that they no longer carry these giraffes)
.
Adam hasn't thought to question why giraffe #2 hasn't been fixed up again. He carries his little companion everywhere and doesn't seem to mind that major body parts are missing or that his giraffe isn't perfect.
.
That is the beauty of little children.
Imagine the world today if we could all be like that!
