Happy Birthmothers Day!

This morning we joined hundreds of other families who have been touched by adoption or are waiting to adopt, to celebrate this wonderful day. It's wonderful to see the blessings of adoption all around us. We are so grateful to have an amazing woman to celebrate today

This is Adam on the day he was born. He is the most beautiful and precious gift that we have ever recieved. We wouldn't be a family without his beautiful birthmother D.

Earlier this week we sent D a little package consisting of Adam's favorite treats, some new photos, a beautiful tile necklace with Adam's photo on it, a fresh batch of cookies (not pictured because they were still in the oven baking :D), a drawing and a Mother's Day card.

We love you D!

Here are some pictures of our day, in random order:

Adam and Clayton running a lap around the track in honor of our birthmother.

I took this picture (above) and burst into tears...If you cant read it very well, at the top of the sign it says "I am here in memory of...our future birthmom"
I remember being the couple at the activities with no children yet, just waiting and hoping and praying that we would be chosen soon. Even though we've been waiting for over 8 months this second time around, (and its not easy...) we already have a little blessing in our lives to lessen the pain of waiting. My heart goes out to all of the childless couples that are yearning for a little one to love.

There were a few relay races and Clayton (right behind Cosmo the Cougar) was a little upset that Cosmo cleary cheated and took off running before the race began..lol

Our wonderful neighbors also adopted their children and we love that they live across the street from us. This is Clayton with Brandon and the kids.

Adam and Logan

Me and my girly friends :) Love you girls!

I love this image..

This is Emily, a beautiful birthmother that I met through my volunteer work with the FSA. This is her precious 8 week old daughter that she recently placed with a family.

Adam was beyond thrilled to see Cosmo the Cougar. He followed Cosmo around until Cosmo finally just picked him up and carried him everywhere. Thanks Cosmo for being such a good sport with your #1 fan!

Awe..precious!

Such a sweet moment..

Because of our sweet D, I get to be mommy to this little angel and celebrate Mother's Day tomorrow. How do I ever say thank you? Let me count the ways....

What a cute post! I loved your pictures. You are such a cute mom and I love reading about all your fun adventures with Adam and Clayton. How fitting for Birthmother's day to be the day before Mother's Day. I love it. Happy Mother's Day! Love you!!!

Hi! I honestly don't remember how I came across your blog, but I've been following it for a few weeks now. And I went to this event this morning! I actually recognized your little boy, but I didn't say anything to you. It felt stalker-ish. Ha ha. I'm actually in the background of one of your pictures (the one where he's running with the blue balloon), walking with a friend. It was a fun event and I think it will be even better once I adopt. It's so nice to have such a large community of people supporting adoption. :)

My husband and I actually picked out the SAME mother's day card for the woman who we are matched with. (trying to be PC without calling her a birthmother, YET)

Beautiful post, and beautiful family!!!

What a lovely post. I wish we did things like this in NZ. I had a lovely mothers day even though I was sick, and wondered how our 2 birthmothers were feeling. We have lost contact with them. It breaks my heart.
