My how time flies...

Cooper is 3 weeks old. How did the last 3 weeks go by so quickly? We feel like it's been much longer actually, like he's been with us forever :)

Here is a little of our story:
.
We arrived in Idaho the day that Cooper was born. We have been blessed abundantly throughout this experience and one of those blessings was the family that took us in, opened their home to us and made us feel like we were part of their family. Thanks to their generosity we did not have to stay in a hotel which would have been quite expensive. We enjoyed every minute that we spent with them they were wonderful! Placement was set to take place Saturday, the day after Cooper was born at 7pm. We were nervous bundles of energy the whole day just waiting to be able to set eyes on him for the first time. About 6pm we got a call that the hospital would not release him until he was 24 hours old so placement was rescheduled for later in the evening at 10pm. A few hours of anticipation later we got into the car, started the engine and were putting on our seat belts to head to the agency when we got another call. Placement was not going to happen that night, Cooper had jaundice and would not be released till the following day sometime. Disappointment does not even begin to describe our emotions!! We slumped back into the house and sadly told the family we were staying with that we'd have to wait another day.
.
Sunday morning came and went and we waited for more news of Coopers condition and whether or not we'd get to meet him that day. We were hanging out with our wonderful surrogate family trying to pass the time when our birth mother's caseworker called to say that L was on her way to the agency with Cooper..the placement was about to happen!!
.
Placement was very special. It was emotional and tender. We were able to express our love, and our gratitude to L, it is an experience we will never forget. I've said it before (with Adam's placement) and I'll say it again, how can we begin to express what this means to us? There is so much joy and sadness all at once. Is it fair that out of one persons sorrow another full fills a dream? We are so grateful for the knowledge of Heavenly Father's love for us, our boys, and their birth mothers... this is His plan for our family.

We were able to come home to Utah on August 25th, just 5 days after he was born. We pulled into our drive at 11:30pm exhausted but excited to be back! We were initially told we would have to stay in Idaho for 10-14 days so we were prepared for the long haul, but once we had him in our arms we were SO ready to come home and get settled!

Our family of four!! I like the sound of that :)

Our first couple of days home were a whirlwind of activity. Lots of family and friends came to meet Cooper and welcome him! We've had an out pouring of love and support, gifts, and delicious dinners from countless family members, friends, ward members and neighbors! We want to thank you all for your kindness and generosity and the love you have shown our family!

Cooper at 2 weeks old....he is SOOO adorable, we are over the moon in love with him.
