Me: What on earth are you doing? Get out of that crib, you're going to break it!
Adam: But mom!
Me: no buts mister! You are too big for that crib and you know better! (I lift him out of the crib)
Adam: But MOM! I was pretending to be a baby...I was JUST using my imagination!! (storms off looking wounded)
Man I love that kid. I just wish his imagination kept him off the furniture and away from walls and windows.
Every single day his imagination takes us to a gazillion different places. Jungles, deserts, Acrifa (Africa), Australia..basically all over the earth. In fact just yesterday he informed me that he is saving his money in his piggy bank so he can see the whole earth.
The other day he unrolled an entire ball of very soft yarn (he's a stinker) and has been carrying it around in his backpack calling it his soft little puppy. And even though I loved that yarn can I really punish him when he now has the perfect soft puppy companion?
This morning I had surgery. Not once but THREE times. The first surgery was performed by "Dr Adam" and was deemed a success shortly afterwards with a shrug of his shoulder and a simple "You look fine to me!". Immediately following the first surgery "Dr Adam Bunny Ears" took over as I was "striken" by some other illness that required several shots, my temperature being taken at least 15 times and a stethescope jammed in my ribs. The 2nd and 3rd surgeries where performed rather quickly since the good "Doctor" had an assistant camel to help him.
When he was done he stood up, patted my knee and said "You'll live."

Two minutes later our bags where packed, our binoculars where in our hands and we were exploring the "jungle" together. (good thing I heal quickly!)

Oh my word...he is SOOO stinkin smart. I love that kid. He cracks me up. What an adventure you have been on lately. I hope you are feeling better from your surgeries :)
nurture that imagination! We go on safari (look for bugs) in the backyard all the time. It's great "us" time. Adam's so sweet.
