3 birthdays in 3 weeks...PART 2

The week before his birthday, Clayton rode in the Ulcer. It's 107 miles of pure fun! (if you like cycling that is!) Clayton has been wanting to do the Ulcer for a few years now but it always fell on a bad weekend in previous years. He trained for several months to do this and I am so proud of him for completing the ride!
.
It took him a little over 7 hours to do the 107 miles.

.
. It was hot.
.
. really hot.
.
. I would have surely died.
.
. But he is amazing!
.
We were really excited to be at the finish line to cheer him on. We waited patiently for about an hour and then started trying to figure out about when he would be crossing the finish line. As his mom and I were discussing this very thing, Clayton all of a sudden whizzed by me on his bike! I barely had time to lift my camera and snap a photo of him riding past! Even though I didn't get any great actions shots of him riding I was still able to get some great pictures after the race.

The following week was Clayton's birthday. I was actually at the FSA National Conference on his birthday but I didn't feel too bad since he got his birthday present two weeks prior (a new road bike!) I was still able to get home in time Saturday night to see him blow out his birthday candles.
