National Adoption Conference 2011

I was so excited to finally be able to attend the Families Support Adoption National Conference this year!
.
The keynote speaker this year was Julie B. Beck, The General Relief Society President of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She shared some wonderful stories and had a very positive message of adoption.
.

The banquet on Friday night was so much fun!
.

The food was DELICIOUS.
.

I am so glad that I was able to go this year. There were some classes on the agenda that I was really looking forward too and they did not disappoint. I also had the privilege to moderate an open discussion on trans racial adoption which was a great experience! I met some wonderful people and heard some amazing stories. I had many opportunities to share my own experiences and feelings and I'm so grateful to the countless people that came up to me afterwards and expressed their feelings on the topics I discussed.
.

My favorite part of all was the time spent with my amazing friends. We made a "girls weekend" out of it
and crammed in as much shopping, eating and
talking as we could!

Thanks girls, for being incredible, strong, talented and an absolute inspiration to me every day.

I sooo wanted to go to this, around mile 8 I was really wishing I had signed up for that instead of a race! Next year for sure! :)
