Spotlight: Jason and Laura

Hi! We are Jason and Laura and Ethan.

We met in 1998 at a church dance and were instantly captivated by each other. We married about 7 months later and our relationship has become even better as the years have passed.

In 2005, we were so lucky to bring our little boy into our family through adoption. He has brought so much joy and laughter into our lives and we are thankful every day for the decision that his birth mother made in placing him into our family. Although his birth mom chose to have a closed adoption, we still think of her often. We do look forward to having an open adoption since we have been able to see the positive outcomes with our friends that have experienced open adoptions.

Jason is fun loving, loyal, and likes to do things outside. He loves to hike, camp, and work in our yard. He is always making up little songs or jokes to make us laugh. Jason is a hard worker and is totally supportive of Laura staying at home with Ethan. Whenever he does get home from work, Ethan gets him at the door with a great big kiss and hug. Jason loves to play with Ethan an you can see how much Ethan loves his daddy!

Laura is outgoing and friendly with everyone that she meets. She can instantly make people feel at ease with her friendly nature. Laura loves to travel, read (especially anything by Jane Austen and the Twilight Series), and she really has a talent for laughing at Jason's homemade jokes even when they aren't very good!

Ethan is a lively little boy and is curious about everything. He loves to be outside playing and helping his daddy. Ethan also likes to play with his cousins, who don't live far away. He also started school this year and loves riding the bus, playing with his friends, and learning lots of new things :)

We are really excited about being able to expand our family through adoption and our families are very supportive and excited as well. Both Jason's mother and his sister's husband are adopted and always express gratitude for the decision their birth parents made in choosing adoption.
