Mrs. Frumpy Pants

Question of the day:
.
Why is it that I always run into an old friend
or acquaintance when I look absolutely crappy?
.
Case in Point:
.
This morning after bathing and feeding the kids,
gathering the bills to pay, grabbing the red box
that need to be returned,
dropping Adam off at preschool,
and filling up the car,

I ran to get a few groceries at the store.
Low and behold I ran into two different friends
that
I haven't seen in some time.
We chatted for a while and then I resumed my shopping.
When I caught my reflection off the glass in
the frozen foods section
I wanted to hide....
.
.
There I was with my unwashed hair, glasses, no make up (If you don't count yesterdays mascara which was rubbed off underneath my eyes) and a shirt I actually wore all day yesterday and just grabbed in a hurry off the floor this morning. The fact that I wore it yesterday doesn't really bother me, it's the spit up stains all over the shoulders and down the front of the shirt that was embarrassing.
.
Now I'm not trying to say that my life is terribly busy, or that it's busier than anyone elses. I think a lot of us are in the same boat with our work loads whether we have children or not and whether we work outside the home or not.
.
I'm just trying to pinpoint when exactly I started letting myself go...

.
Has this ever happened to you?
.
Are you a Frumpy Pants mama
.
or
.
a Glamorous mama?

(It's ok, don't be shy..Glamorous is awesome!)
.
I know that "Glam Mamas" exist because
I personally know at least 4 of them so if you fit this category
I'm dying to know how you do it.
.
I was planning to take a vow at the end of this post
proclaiming myself a "Glam Mama" from now on
promising to spice up my wardrobe and always putting
make-up on before I leave the house.
.
I'll keep you posted on how it's going.

Okay...really? You ARE a Glam Mama and you don't have to dress up or put on makeup to feel like that. I love to go to Walmart with no makeup. haha. In seriousness though...I am not that type of person to dress up and wear my heels to go to the store just in case I run into someone. So...nothing wrong with being caught at the store looking like frumpy pants mama...because there are more of us out there than you think :)

Isn't that just Murphy's law that you'll only run into people when you look like crud? I've actually NEVER seen you in that state, but it happens to everyone. I don't count myself a glam Mom because I'm way too uncool (and cheap too) for that, but I DO try to get myself a shower and get dressed everyday even if it is in jeans and a t-shirt (my uniform of choice)and even if it doesn't happen until 1 pm or later.
