Have you all heard of the newest tactic on Facebook to "raise" breast cancer awareness?
.
It goes something like this. You select your birth month and that assigns you your "weeks"then you select from a list of foods and that becomes your craving. Then you write out your status: Mine is November and I like fudge so...
.
My status would say "I'm 11 weeks and craving fudge!"...
.
Ya....ummm.. I'm not gonna be posting that as my status.
.
Not gonna happen.
.
Believe me when I tell you how many times I fantasized about sharing that kind of information and having it be 100% true.
.
Don't worry, I'm over it.. remember this post?
.
BUT
.
that doesn't excuse really poor judgement on the person(s)
who came up with this. I was going to write an entire post dedicated to this but then I found a fantastic post that basically sums up how I feel about the issue.
If you have a moment, go read it.
PS. don't get me wrong, I'm all about cancer awareness..but lets come up with a better way to spread the word!

You'd appreciate this post by my friend Susan http://toddlerplanet.wordpress.com/2010/01/08/in-the-name-of-awareness/
She read it at BlogHer10 and I sobbed.
thanks for sharing that Molly, beautiful! Gives me yet another perspective as well.
I was feeling kind of annoyed at that FB thing too. I wouldn't post it either. Now I'll go and check out your link. Thanks!
